2025 Theme
This year’s Student Research Week (SRW), hosted by the Department of Cell Physiology and Molecular Biophysics (CPMB) at TTUHSC, embraces the theme “Let’s Get Biophysical!” Join us for a deep dive into the captivating world of biophysics, with a special focus on membrane protein research. Membrane proteins play vital roles in processes like signal transduction and molecular transport, making them fundamental to understanding life’s molecular machinery. But to truly understand these complex proteins, we have to “get biophysical”—harnessing powerful techniques like electrophysiology, crystallography, and computational simulations to uncover their molecular mysteries.
SRW will be an in-person event packed with opportunities for students to showcase their research in poster sessions, lightning talks, and a poster competition judged on hypothesis, methodology, and communication skills, plus a vendor fair to connect with industry leaders showcasing the latest in research tools and technology. We’re also thrilled to welcome two outstanding keynote speakers, Dr. Daniel Minor Jr. (University of California, San Francisco) and Dr. Rajini Rao (Johns Hopkins School of Medicine), who will deliver presentations on February 28th, offering insights into their groundbreaking research on ion channels, ion transporters, and their roles in health and disease.
Come be a part of SRW 2025 – where students and researchers gather, learn, and Let’s Get Biophysical!
