Application Process

The Department of Internal Medicine only accepts applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).  Information about the service may be obtained from your Dean's Office or from the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC).  International medical graduates may obtain information about ERAS through the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). 

Resident Application Deadline is November 1, 2024

 

Application Requirements

  1. Applications are only accepted through ERAS.
  2. Submit the following documents:
    1.      ERAS Application
    2.      Medical School Transcripts
    3.      USMLE Score Reports
    4.      Dean's Letter
    5.      Three (3) Recommendation Letters
    6.      Personal Statement
  3. USMLE scores of 220 or higher on first attempt preferred.
  4. US clinical experience is preferred.
  5. Medical school graduation within the last five years is preferred.
  6. TTUHSC policy mandates that only J-1 Visas be sponsored for physicians in training.  TTUHSC will accept EAD and green cards.  Candidates requiring visa sponsorship should provide specific information in their application.
  7. Applicants must be eligible for a Texas Medical Board Physician in Training permit.  
    Applicants must be ECFMG certified when they apply or they will be withdrawn from the review process. 
  8. Our program participates in the National Resident Matching Program.
  9. The PGY level requested should be clearly specified.

 

Interview Process

The Internal Medicine Residency Program will be conducting virtual-only interviews this year. Invitations will be sent to applicants.
