Health Care Research Centers
The Center for Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, within the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, seeks to facilitate a collaborative effort among faculty in the programs of audiology, speech-language pathology and rehabilitation sciences within the School of Health Professions and faculty from other programs within TTUHSC and Texas Tech University who have interest and expertise in processing and production of auditory information, including linguistic stimuli.
The Center for Clinical Rehabilitation Research within the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences consists of three clinical research laboratories (Gait Evaluation Laboratory, Balance Assessment Laboratory, and Energy Cost Assessment Laboratory), and integrates and promotes interdisciplinary research and clinical services in the Rehabilitation Sciences.

To increase educational access to health professionals who are serving communities throughout rural West Texas and the state, some programs rely extensively on non-traditional formats or distance education technologies. The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management program is an online Bachelor of Science degree that prepares students to enter management and leadership positions within health care organizations. MORE
The Master of Science in Healthcare Administration program is an online graduate health care administration degree geared towards working health care professionals who are seeking to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to advance as a successful health care leader. MORE
The Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling program provides an opportunity for vocational rehabilitation counselors of the Texas Rehabilitation Commission, other state agencies and within the private sector to obtain their professional credentials while continuing to serve their clients. Addiction counselors provide and coordinate services for people with a range of substance use disorders and other behavioral addictions and health problems. They provide treatment and support to help the client recover from addiction or to modify problematic behaviors. MORE
Mental health counselors provide and coordinate services for people with a range of behavioral health concerns. Providing treatment and support to individuals and families, services are provided in both individual and group contexts. Assisting clients in developing strategies to cope with and recover from the symptoms of behavioral disorders, emphasis is placed on returning to optimal emotional functioning. MORE
The Sc.D., P.T. program employs a unique combination of weekend clinical clusters in communities around the state that are supported by distance education technology and short, intensive periods on campus that offer practicing Physical Therapists the opportunity to achieve advanced clinical skills and competencies while maintaining their practice. Medical laboratory science, the study and practice of diagnostic laboratory medicine, is a dynamic health care profession. Medical laboratory professionals provide 70% of the critical objective information for diagnosis, treatment and preventative health care. These individuals analyze body tissues and fluids using complex instrumentation, sophisticated techniques and specialized knowledge. MORE
