Current Research Projects:
HIGH-QUALITY POINT-OF-VIEW INTRAOPERATIVE VIDEO RECORDING USING YOUR SMARTPHONE. Saint Louis, MO / 9/2020 - Present. Project designed to examine the utility and workability of a low-cost head-mounted smartphone for point-of-view recording for plastic and reconstructive surgery procedures.
SECONDARY ALVEOLAR BONE GRAFTING WITH DEMINERALIZED BONE MATRIX AFTER PREVIOUS ALVEOLAR TREATMENT WITH BONE MORPHOGENIC PROTEIN-2. Saint Louis, MO / 1/2019-Present. Project designed to study the incidence of primary graft failure in patients treated with DBX bone grafting alone versus autologous bone grafting, while sub-stratifying to determine whether prior exposure to BMP correlated with graft success.
DEFINING IDEAL FEMALE GENITAL ANATOMY THROUGH NOVEL CROWDSOURCING ANALYSIS. Saint Louis, MO / 7/2019-6/2022. The project attempts to define the ideal vulvar anatomy via crow-sourced analysis of different anatomical ratios, in attempt to guide future surgical planning and patient education.
PEDIATRIC JUXTA-EPIPHYSEAL PHALANGEAL FRACTURES ARE DISTINCT FROM SALTER-HARRIS TYPE II FRACTURES AND MORE FREQUEENTTLY NEED OPERATIVE FIXATION. Saint Louis, MO / 4/2018-8/2022. Study designed to determine the incidence of Salter-Harris 2 versus Juxta-epiphyseal fracture in the pediatric population and compare the differences in clinical features and treatments between these two fracture patterns.
NOVEL INSTRUMENTATION-FREE INTRA-ARTICULAR PROXIMAL PHALANX BASE FRACTURE FIXATION USING POLYDIOXANONE SUTURE. Bonita Springs, FL / 3/2020. Study designed to evaluate the biomechanical strength of a intra-articular proximal phalanx base fracture instrumentation-free repair using PDS suture.
STAYING ON THE CUTTING EDGE. Saint Louis, MO / 3/2020. Viewpoints paper advocating for the integration of a more biological approach for the treatment of chronic wounds.
Recent Funding:
