The Ari Omar Halldorsson, M.D. Memorial Fund has been launched in honor of our longtime friend, colleague, and Program Director.
Dr. Halldorsson was a dedicated surgeon, and a phenomenal surgical educator. We are starting this fund to honor his many accomplishments and contributions, and preserve his memory in a positive way.
The proceeds will be used to further Dr. H’s passion for surgical education, and aid current and future residents in their educational pursuits. Donations of any size are welcome, and we hope to be able to collect enough funds to meaningfully contribute to resident education initiatives.
We train the best of the next generation of independent, confident surgeons ready
for general surgery practice or to pursue advanced fellowship training upon graduation.
We want to give you an insight into the Surgery Resident’s life in and out of the
hospital, specifically emphasizing the resident’s collegiality and the strong personal
relationships between faculty and residents.

Dissanaike focuses on questions around the coronavirus and how it impacts surgeons and hospitals. ... she stresses the importance of narrowly focused specialists working together with broad-based generalists and drawing on new ideas about how to tackle the pandemic from different disciplines. …" More
