Residency Program Overview
The four-year Ob/Gyn program was approved in 1988 and is accredited for four residents per year. TTUHSC - Permian Basin is an educational facility that houses classrooms, administrative offices, faculty offices, conference rooms, auditorium and library. The three-story clinic building houses the ambulatory clinics of the clinical medicine specialties: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery, Psychiatry and Pediatrics.
The TTUHSC buildings are adjacent to Medical Center Hospital, which serves Ector County Hospital District and is supported by a tax base. Medical Center Hospital is mandated to care for the indigent populations that are a large number of high-risk and seriously ill patients. This affords the residents the opportunity to increase their clinical exposure to a myriad of diseases and experiences. Midland Memorial Hospital, located in adjoining Midland, Texas, provides clinical experience for our residents as well.
