The TTUHSC Heroes to Healthcare series aims to assist in preparing our veteran and military students to enter their professional careers.

The series give students the opportunity to learn valuable information through participating in various career services activities. The Veterans Resource Center website assists in locating career services.

Eligibility

  • Veteran and military students graduating from TTUHSC in the current academic year
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

Each Heroes to Healthcare participant must keep track of their individual requirements and completion documentation. When all requirements are completed, the following items should be sent to the Veterans Resource Center, vrc@ttuhsc.edu, with subject line "Heroes to Healthcare".

  • Heroes to Healthcare Application, and documentation showing requirement completions. Choose 5 of the topics below to complete page two of the application.

    -Career assessments
    -Resume/cover letter writing/critiquing
    -Networking and dining etiquette
    -Interviewing
    -Professional dress
    -Job fairs
    -Career Webinars
  • One-page narrative outlining military, academic/work experiences, and career/life goals
  • DD-214, current military orders, or LES 

After completion of all components of the Heroes to Healthcare series, participant may be selected to receive a brand-new suit, up to a $500 value. The participant is required to schedule an appointment with a suit vendor to select and be fitted for their suit. 

Applications will open each Fall semester for all TTUHSC students graduating in the current academic year. Submissions should be made to the Veterans Resource Center, vrc@ttuhsc.edu by November 11th each year, while funding is available.
