Cayuse Studies VS. Legacy Submissions

The studies that were pulled over from iRIS into Cayuse are essentially empty labeled folders. They do not contain your application, protocol, consent documents, datasheets, etc.

Before you can submit an amendment to your study, a legacy form will have to be completed with all of your currently approved study documentation attached (i.e., protocol, datasheets, consents, etc.).

****ATTENTION RESEARCHERS ****  CAYUSE UPDATE 8.28.2023

Cayuse is now open for New Exempt study submissions. 

Please review the Cayuse Training here for questions about submitting your Exempt project. We will accept new studies for all others beginning Friday, September 1st, 2023.

If you wish to do so, you can begin submitting your legacy forms for IRB-approved projects from iRIS. Simply search for your study, open it, select "New Submission," and then "Legacy." This process requires your currently approved documents for completion. Those that are not completed by research personnel will be completed by IRB staff by priority and as time allows. 

NOTE: A Legacy Submission Form is required before you can start submitting modifications (i.e., personnel revisions, amendments, etc.).

*** Attention Researchers and Research Staff ***

Due to unforeseen problems with data upload into the Cayuse system, the TTUHSC IRBs are extending access to the iRIS system on a temporary basis and until further notice.  

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY - researchers may submit only the following items into the iRIS system during the month of August:

• Continuing review reports for studies that are due to expire in August
• Study modifications/amendments of an urgent nature
• Unanticipated events that are classified as Serious Adverse Events or Unanticipated Problems

* Please note that the Amarillo or Lubbock IRB will NOT be accepting new study applications into the iRIS system during this time.

Additional updates will be sent as soon as the issue with the Cayuse system is resolved.  In the meantime, know that iRIS will remain active.  Please contact your local IRB administrator if you have questions or concerns.
