Public Health Certificate Options
The Julia Jones Matthews School of Population and Public Health offers two graduate certificate options: the Graduate Certificate in Public Health and the Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology. Both certificates require 12 credit hours of coursework and can be completed 100% online. Designed for students seeking to expand their knowledge and credentials in public health, credits earned in either certificate may be applied toward the 45-credit-hour Master of Public Health (MPH) degree.
Graduate Certificate in Public Health
The Julia Jones Matthews School of Population and Public Health is proud to offer the Graduate Certificate in Public Health. Training emphasizes the knowledge and skills of core public health fields and the integration and application of those fields to public health practice. This certificate will provide students with the foundational knowledge, skills, and values needed to succeed in careers that bridge public health.
The certificate program is for students who wish to have an extra credential and may
already have a master's degree or or not ready to pursue one. This 12 credit hour program is offered online and courses taken may be applied to
our 45 credit hour MPH if so desired.
Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology
The Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology provides students with foundational training in epidemiologic and statistical methods used to investigate patterns of disease, identify risk factors, and support evidence-based public health decision-making. This 12-credit-hour program is offered 100% online and is designed for students and working professionals seeking to strengthen their analytic skills and gain specialized training in epidemiology.
