Frequently Asked Questions about Poster Printing
The cost depends on the size of your poster and the type of paper you select. Once the size and paper type are determined, we can then give you a quote.
Lamination will make your poster more durable for travel or multiple presentations, makes the color more vibrant and long lasting and provides a more finished looking product. Lamination is available glossy and matte finishes. Glossy provides very rich colors and sharp text and graphics, yet is very reflective. Think of matte lamination as being anti-glare. It is ideal to use when you know your poster will be displayed near windows or large light sources. Color and sharpness is less vibrant than posters laminated with gloss laminate.
Lamination cost depends on the size of your poster. As a general rule, lamination doubles the cost of a poster.
Four feet by three feet (48”x36”) is the size we see most. However, we receive poster files with greatly varying dimensions. We can print up to 60” wide and have made prints 11 feet long. Please check with the organizers of your particular conference, meeting or class in which the poster will be displayed. It is common for each group to have its own poster size guidelines.
You can email poster files that are 10 megabytes or less in size to larry.starr@ttuhsc.edu. If larger, please bring them to our office using a flash drive or CD.
Turnaround time is usually the same day you send your poster to us. If it’s sent to us after 3:00pm and or needs lamination, then it will be ready the next day. Please know that during Student Research Week and other high volume events, we may need extra time. If you are working on a tight deadline, please contact us 1 to 2 days before your deadline to ensure we are ready to produce your poster on time.

Picture images should be high quality original files whenever possible. Try not to use images from the web, as they are usually no bigger than 72dpi and make for badly pixelated images on your poster.
