Office of External Relations
Supporting the University's Mission and Connecting the Public to TTUHSC
The Department of External Relations connects Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) with the public through strategic communication and interaction. With multiple areas of expertise, External Relations is prepared to assist and collaborate with schools and departments at TTUHSC and the Texas Tech University (TTU) System administrative offices to provide the public with an array of resources.
Alumni Relations
The alumni relations team works to generate and sustain the lifelong interest and involvement of alumni, students, friends, and supporters in the programs and activities of the university and the TTUHSC Alumni Association. PULSE, a publication for alumni and friends of TTUHSC, is published by the alumni relations team and made available free of charge to all alumni and friends of the university. PULSE includes alumni updates and profiles, feature stories, news and upcoming events, and more. We invite you to join the TTUHSC Alumni Association’s network of nearly 20,000 successful health care professionals.
Communications and Marketing
The communications and marketing team provides communication strategy and services to the university and its academic and administrative units to support TTUHSC strategic objectives and promote successes. The team also manages the marketing of Texas Tech Physicians. C&M acts as a liaison between TTUHSC and the local and national press and works with a variety of community organizations to promote the schools’ events and initiatives. Areas of expertise include media relations, public relations, social media strategies, web and print design, writing and editing for print and web, photography and integrating multiple channels of communication with various audiences.
Governmental Relations
The Governmental Relations Office represents Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) with elected officials, Federal agencies and legislative stakeholders in the pursuit of the funding and advancement of the institute’s legislative initiatives. The office aligns legislative initiatives with corporate/foundation based funding opportunities and leads all matters relating to external communications with state and federal governmental entities.
Institutional Advancement
The development team builds relationships with constituent groups, supports the fundraising efforts of TTUHSC and encourages private support of initiatives by providing experienced counsel and centralized functions as they relate to gifts, endowment management, compliance and stewardship, naming opportunities, and estate and trust administration. They also plan and implement official events on behalf of the TTUHSC president, TTU System officials.
