Dear TTUHSC Students,

In light of the recent federal, state, and local governments' directives to reopen our communities, I encourage each of you to continue to stay home when possible and practice social distancing, hand hygiene, and to be diligent in wearing face coverings when you are in public spaces.

We will share information about TTUHSC’s phased plan for returning to campus during our next student-focused Presidential Town Hall.

Presidential Town Hall

3 p.m. Tuesday, May 5
Please join the event via Zoom: https://ttuhsc.zoom.us/j/94764516877

Questions should be submitted in advance to president@ttuhsc.edu by Noon on Tuesday, May 5.

I’m also excited to share with you that TTUHSC has received emergency financial assistance for eligible students through the federal CARES Act, and we expect to begin accepting applications next week. TTUHSC Student Affairs will share the application link with you via email once it's available. Our goal is to distribute funds as quickly as possible to make it easier for you to continue your educational goals.

The amount each student will receive is based on the number of applications we receive, eligibility, and funds available up to $1,000 per student. Students who do not qualify may apply for assistance through TTUHSC’s Our Legacy Now Student Foundation.

These programs are detailed on the new Student Resources website. This page provides you with easy access to information on existing resources, and others will be added as they become available. You also will find a number of university and community resources listed, including support for food, housing, and utilities.

For many of you, the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in undue hardships, and I commend your perseverance under such challenging circumstances. I hope these resources will make a difference for you and your families.

Please continue to take care of yourself, press on in pursuit of your goals, and know that your health, safety, and well-being remain one of our top priorities.

Warmest regards,
