Pathology Services
WELCOME to The Department of Pathology at TTUHSC Lubbock, Texas. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center has provided anatomic pathology services to the South Plains for 40 years.
Our experienced staff consists of faculty members from the Department of Pathology at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, all of whom are experts in their fields. In addition to providing consultation and pathology services, pathologists are actively involved in education, research and professional organizations, which keep them abreast of the latest advancements within their areas of expertise.
VISION of the Department of Pathology is to enrich the lives of others by educating students to become collaborative health care professionals, providing excellent patient care, and advancing knowledge through innovative research.
The department has an active medical student and clinical subspecialty fellow (GI, pulmonary/critical care, Nephrology, Heme/Oncology) rotation. The clinical activities of the department are located in 1A-115, and offer a full range of diagnostic activities for patient care (including frozen section).
Clinical Services
The faculty is respected nationally for their diagnostic and academic expertise. The research activities of the department are broadly based and include research on the basic mechanisms of cellular injury as well as translational studies of breast and prostate cancer.
Pathology as a discipline touch all of medicine and research. Our goal is to foster collaborative studies with faculty members of other clinical and basic science faculties. This goal includes our missions of education and clinical services.
