What is Graduate Medical Education?

Welcome to the Office of Graduate Medical Education at TTUHSC! No matter which of our programs interests you, our faculty and staff are united in our pursuit of a common vision: to extend excellent, life-giving care to patients across the health care spectrum, especially in areas with the most critical needs and shortages.

With our highly regarded faculty and rigorous learning experiences, the graduate medical education offered at TTUHSC provides fellowships and residency training that will prepare you for excellence as a physician in the medical specialty that most interests you.

The goal of medical education (residency and fellowship training), is to become certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties to practice in a medical specialty.

The Texas Tech residency and fellowship programs are developed in the context of the Physician General Competencies as expressed by the ABMS and the ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education).
