Mission
The Office of Faculty Recruitment, Affairs, and Development recruit and develop talented faculty to advance teaching, research, and clinical care and collectively support the career and success of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine faculty and teams. Faculty Recruitment supports the School of Medicine (SOM) by identifying faculty candidates who align with the institution's strategic direction, through recruiting, and onboarding talented faculty to broaden the clinical and educational landscape for both patients and learners. Faculty Affairs provides faculty support for academic growth from recruitment to emeritus status. Faculty Affairs sustains systems within the School of Medicine for records management, governance, recognition, and supporting faculty. Professional Development in the School of Medicine serves the institution as a whole, encompassing Faculty Development and Accredited Continuing Education. Professional Development advances the growth of faculty, clinicians, and the interprofessional healthcare team across West Texas through inclusive, evidence-informed, and needs-based education that enhances teaching, leadership, scholarship, and healthcare team performance. Together, this office fosters faculty excellence, strengthen the SOM, and advance TTUHSC’s institutional mission to transform healthcare through education, research, and service.
