Office of Interprofessional Education
About the Office of Interprofessional Education
Founded in January 2015, the Office of Interprofessional Education at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is dedicated to preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals to work collaboratively, compassionately, and effectively in today’s complex healthcare environment.
As part of the Division of Academic Affairs and Integrative Learning, under the Office of the Provost, OIPE provides both centralized programming and support for decentralized initiatives across all TTUHSC schools and campuses. Our office coordinates the TTUHSC IPE Core Curriculum, oversees institutional IPE assessment and evaluation, and leads strategic initiatives that strengthen collaborative learning.
Each year, OIPE impacts more than 6,400 learners through required coursework, such as the Foundations of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (FICP) online course, and a wide range of virtual and in-person events. These experiences ensure that every TTUHSC graduate gains the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in team-based care, public health, and health research.
Looking ahead, OIPE continues to expand opportunities for learners through initiatives like microcredentialing, allowing them to showcase specialized interprofessional skills tailored to the evolving demands of healthcare.
Together, we are shaping the future of healthcare by fostering collaboration, communication, and innovation among all members of the healthcare team.
